Now that summer has officially arrived, so too has an abundance of entertaining options guaranteed to help keep your calendar filled! We’re here to help lighten the load a bit by narrowing the list down to your best bets for Vancouver In July.  Check them out below!

Summer just ain’t summer without a trip to the Pemberton Music Festival (takes place July 14th – 17th in Pemberton, BC). This years line up features the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, FKA Twigs, Kaskade, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Billy Idol, Bassnectar, Arkells, Thievery Corporation, Mark Farina, The Zolas and so many more.  To add to the music, they’ve added a whole other comedic side to things with a Pemby Comedy stage where you’ll find Cheech and Chong, Maria Bamford, Morgan Murphy and plenty of others. Tickets are selling fast and so are campsite reservations, don’t wait.

Head out to Steveston this Canada Day Long Weekend and celebrate in a culturally rich style thanks to the Richmond Agricultural and Industrial Society that sees more than 70,000 people attend each year.  100 entries including floats, marching bands, celebrities, politicians, community groups, vintage vehicles and much more.

Sunwave Wave III (Open Air) at UBC

Grab your friends and your summer gear and head out to UBC (to Koerner’s Secret Garden) on July 2nd for an all day and night dance fest featuring Electronic beats, plenty of sun and sprawling grounds to help you get a festival fix in the city. Catch DJ Max Ulis, Marc Gerrard, Jessey Bau and more.

Head to the Vancouver Aquarium this month and leave the kids at home for their July 7th After Hours event where you can sip, savour and explore. Mix, mingle and meander your way around the aquarium as you take in a special dolphin training session, catch dive demonstrations and score a hands-on learning experience in the Wet Lab.

The 2nd Annual Squamish Beer Festival is back and promises to be bigger and better than ever featuring more than 120 craft beers from 40 breweries in the heart of Downtown Squamish.   Tickets are bound to sell out in advance and get you into a killer all-day party that includes live music, great brew and local food trucks dishing out tasty eats.

Carnaval del Sol 2016

Don’t miss this free two-day festival celebrating all things Latin America at Concord Pacific Place – False Creek. Try your hand at a soccer tournament, check out one of more than 30 bands and 150 different performers, catch a fashion show and don’t miss the Food Plaza where vendors will be showcasing a variety of mouthwatering dishes native to various Latin American countries.

You know it’s summer when Fresh Air Cinemas set up their giant inflatable screen at Second Beach in Stanley Park. Every Tuesday (starting July 5th) head down before sunset for a free screening of an old favorite (Napoleon Dynamite, The Little Mermaid and Dirty Dancing are just a few). Bring a snack – or grab one on site from one of the many vendors and get cozy.

Honda Celebration of Light

Always a free must-attend perfect for the whole family, groups of friends or date night… catch one of several fireworks displays in the heart of English Bay toward the end of this month (July 23rd, 27th and 30th). Competing as part of this year’s displays that light up Vancouver’s skyline after dark: Australia, the Netherlands and USA.

Vancouver PRIDE Parade

Be sure to head down to Vancouver’s West End and join thousands (we’re talking hundreds of thousands!) of others as you catch one of the largest and most highly regarded LGBTQ2+ events in the world. Always an amazing and fun show to watch, this parade definitely gets your attention (the kids will have a blast too!)
