The Excitement of Horse Racing at Hastings Racecourse

The excitement, thrill, and beauty of horse racing is an event that everyone should come out to see and enjoy during the season.  Bringing together individuals of all ages to appreciate the teaming up of man and animal for a race to the finish will have you holding your breath while also wanting to scream out in anticipation.  Providing the venue for this amazing night out is Hastings Racecourse located on the PNE grounds in Vancouver.  An iconic landmark of the city, you can’t miss seeing the crowds and hearing the race calls as you go up hastings street and pass by the race track overlooking the Northshore mountains.

More info:  Opening for business in 1889, The Hastings Racecourse originally went by the name East Park, as served as the cities premiere horse racing facility.  More then 125 years later and it continues to invite guests in for a day at the races as they come out to cheer, bet, and take in the excitement in Vancouver’s longest continuously used professional sports facility.  With a Live Racing season that runs from mid April until mid October, fans have a great season of horse racing to look forward to, along with numerous satellite feeds of races around the world to watch.

Hastings Racecourse is the host to many high level races as well from the BC Day Cup in August, which hosts a series of 6 races for top level thoroughbreds in various classes, and the British Columbia Breeders Cup Oak, and British Columbia Breeders Cup Derby, both happening in September and being two of the most important races for 3 year olds in British Columbia.  The Deighton Cup is also a highlight event that has horse racing fans dressing their best and coming out for a day to celebrate the class, style, and fun of coming out to Hastings Racecourse.
